I've also been interested in finding our more about the local music scene, particularly acoustic folk/rock/bluegrass/Irish (not exactly at the same time).

I haven't made it out to Avo's yet, but I did hear what sounded like an Irish session going on one Sunday evening (dinnertime) at a teeny bar called The Town Pump.

There's a neat bluegrassy band that plays a lot at Conor O'Neills.

I'm hoping more shows will pop up as the weather warms. Let us know what you find out.

Check out a band called Slopeside..it has 2 of the original members of Tempting Fate...Arn Current and Rory White...they also have an accoustic version called Accoustic Current...they play at jj"s...Tommy's Tailgate south...(which also has an Irish Jam on their Patio on Sunday's), Connor O'neils in boulder and allover Denver and Longmont...they are GREAT!! The Vault is also good accoustically and Scott Allen's open mike on Sundays at the Canyon Grill at Horsetooth is always amazing. Bluegrass on Sunday's in Laporte at The Grange was fun last summer. Have Fun and support live music...Ft. Collins is a wonderful area for that...full of talent...about town

Avo's is the place to check out.  I think they have the most frequent acoustic string music shows in Fort Collins.  I've seen many enjoyable shows there, and the venue isn't too bad.  Decent food, good beer, friendly crowd.
