Hi, I'm new to the Forum.
I would like for folks interested in the Arts in Fort Collins to know about Youth Orchestra of the Rockies in general, and about our upcoming concerts and auditions for our advanced, symphonic orchestra, as well as Junior Strings Orchestra and ensemble for young brass players. I invite interested folks to check out our website and perhaps attend a concert: http://www.fortnet.org/YOR
There are currently openings in bassoon, horn, bass trombone and viola. The Junior Strings Orchestra and Junior Brass Ensemble has auditions in January, 2007. Audition information is available at our website.
Upcoming Concerts: November 11, 7:30 pm at Thompson Valley HS November 12, 3 pm in Fort Collins at the UCA on the corner of Remington and Pitkin.
Repertoire includes: Felix Mendelssohn Symphony No. 5 (in its entirety) Fanny Mendelssohn Overture
Our programming includes major symphonic works and our students are coached by terrific professionals from the Fort Collins Symphony and regional university faculty. Advanced musical study is a great activity for interested young people and it helps them with their collegiate and career goals.
Deadline to apply for the symphonic orchestra for Summer 2007 and Season 2007-08: March 1 Apply online: http://www.fortnet.org/YOR/rmyoapp.html
Thank you!
